Joyful Tutors began with a bigger idea than another weekly lesson.
We set out to create learning support that feels more personal, encouraging and genuinely useful for students and for the families supporting them.
Learning should not lose its joy
Joyful Tutors was founded from a deep passion for education and a concern that too many students experience learning as pressure, frustration or something simply to get through.
Founder Erika Moreno saw this through her own experience and while working in schools. Teachers often work under considerable pressure, and even excellent schools cannot always provide every student with sustained one-to-one attention.
Tutoring can complement the education system by giving students the time, explanation, encouragement and personal guidance that may be difficult to provide in a busy classroom.
Joyful Tutors exists to make learning clearer, more personal and more hopeful.

Founded by a teacher who sees the whole student
Qualified Teacher | Business & Economics Specialist | Pastoral Care Experience
Erika Moreno founded Joyful Tutors after working in education and seeing how closely academic progress is connected to confidence, wellbeing, motivation and a student’s sense of direction.
For Erika, tutoring has never been only about improving one subject. It is also about understanding how a student studies, how they manage pressure, how they approach their other subjects, what they may want to do in the future and whether their current routine is actually working for them.
That pastoral perspective still shapes Joyful Tutors today. Students are supported not only as learners preparing for an assessment, but as young people making important choices about subjects, careers and their future.
“I wanted to create a more personal, encouraging and enjoyable learning experience for students. Joyful Tutors became the first step towards that vision.”
Why “Joyful”?
Joy does not mean pretending that learning is always easy.
It means creating the conditions in which a student feels safe enough to ask questions, confident enough to make mistakes and motivated enough to keep going.
At Joyful Tutors, joy can look like relief when something finally makes sense. It can look like curiosity returning, a student becoming more independent or a parent feeling reassured that their child is receiving the right support.
