Most Joyful Tutors lessons take place online. We may also offer selected workshops, events and occasional in-person services where clearly advertised.

Yes. We want the tutoring relationship to feel productive and comfortable. Where there is a reasonable concern about the match, contact us and we will review the situation and consider an alternative tutor where appropriate.

This depends on the subject, level, availability and type of tutor required. Some matches can begin quickly, while more specialist requests may take longer.

We require at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a lesson. Late cancellations may be charged in full, although genuine emergencies may be considered at our discretion.

Tutors are expected to complete appropriate identity, reference and safeguarding checks. Enhanced DBS checks are used where legally eligible and relevant to the role, with overseas checks considered where appropriate.

Tutors may record attendance, lesson notes and progress information through TutorCruncher. Families may also receive updates, check-ins and guidance depending on the tutoring arrangement.
